Writing and Illustrating when I have the time.

Firstly welcome to my blog. Here you will find the results of what I do when I have some free time. It will look a bit chaotic, I have no grand plan as such. I am writing a book (When to Plant a Tree) and I will add posts as bits get completed, or I come up with another story line. I have a plot worked out, but I will be looking to add many intertwining stories which I currently have no idea about. So I have as much an idea as you do as to what it will turn out like – it’ll be fun.

I hope you enjoy reading the following posts as much as I has creating them.

  • Comic Book Starter
I’ve started a new range of books – Blank Books. Books which are started and just waiting for someone to finish off. Comic Book Starter is one of the first Blank Books I’ve finished and can be found on Amazon : https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JDTKFQ2
  • Row Your Boat
The birth of a new baby has put the “When to plant a tree” project on hold. Time just disappears in nappy changing. But while I wait for the time when I can think again I’ve started a new project for, one I can read to baby. I only hope she likes it. Row YourContinue reading “Row Your Boat”
  • John’s All Natural Unspecific Soup
Meet John. He makes soup. He’ll probably make a few appearances in the book. Not a main character but someone who will make an impact in the story. I thought I would draw him first to see what he looks like and how he’ll fit into the city. This is the first sketch which I’llContinue reading “John’s All Natural Unspecific Soup”
  • Prologue
This is the first draft of the prologue. It’s probably going to change a lot as I write the rest of the book, so I’m not too worried about getting everything right just yet. Apologies for the typos, bad grammar and spelling mistakes. The events depicted at set around 500 years before the rest ofContinue reading “Prologue”
  • The First Post
Hello, this is the blog of Neil Giggins, me, and will cover basically anything I feel like writing and illustrating about. Getting fed up with creating anything I thought might somehow get chosen to get published and promoted I instead opted for doing exactly what I wanted, self publishing and hoping someone finds it. AnContinue reading “The First Post”
